Shawanaga First Nation Fire Services is a dedicated volunteer department providing all-hazard emergency response within the community. Our team responds to medical emergencies, fires, motor vehicle collisions, hazardous materials incidents, and technical rescues while also supporting fire prevention and emergency preparedness.

Volunteer Firefighter Recruitment
Interested in serving your community?
We welcome applications from individuals interested in becoming volunteer firefighters. Please submit your resume and cover letter with the subject line “Volunteer Firefighter Recruitment”.
Emergency Preparedness
Being prepared can make all the difference during an emergency. Every household is encouraged to have a 72-hour emergency kit ready with essential supplies in case an evacuation or unexpected situation occurs. Watch the video to learn what to include in your kit.
Ambulance Services
Emergency paramedic services for Shawanaga First Nation are provided by the Parry Sound District Paramedic Service.
Primary Care Paramedics respond to medical emergencies throughout the community, delivering emergency assessment, treatment, and transportation when required.
Policing Services
Police services for Shawanaga First Nation are provided by the Anishinabek Police Service (APS).
APS works in partnership with First Nation communities to provide culturally responsive policing, emergency response, crime prevention, and community safety services.
