Shawanaga First Nation’s departments work together to provide essential services, support programs, and maintain the systems that keep the community running. Each department plays a role in supporting members, families, and future growth.

LANDS & RESOURCES

Manages land use, environmental stewardship, and community planning, including land access, permits, and ongoing resource and conservation initiatives.

INFRASTRUCTURE & COMMUNITY SERVICES

Maintains core infrastructure such as roads, water delivery, public buildings, and essential services that support daily life in the community.

HEALING & HEALTH SERVICES

Provides health, wellness, and support services, including addiction support, family well-being programs, and community care through the Healing Centre.

SCHOOL & EDUCATION

Supports students and families through elementary education and post-secondary funding programs, helping learners at all stages of their education journey.

HOUSING & SOCIAL SERVICES

Oversees housing programs, applications, and policies, while also providing social support services to help meet the needs of individuals and families.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Supports local business growth, community development opportunities, and initiatives that strengthen the local economy.

FINANCE

Manages financial operations, budgeting, and funding to ensure programs and services are delivered responsibly and sustainably.
